24When Pilate saw that he was getting nowhere, but that instead an uproar was starting, he took water and washed his hands in front of the crowd. “I am innocent of this man’s blood,” he said. “It is your responsibility!” 彼拉多见再说也无济于事，反而会引起骚乱，于是拿了一盆水来，在众人面前洗手，说：“流这义人的血，罪不在我，你们自己负责。”

25All the people answered, “His blood is on us and on our children!” 众人都说：“流祂血的责任由我们和我们的子孙承担！”

26Then he released Barabbas to them. But he had Jesus flogged, and handed him over to be crucified.于是，彼拉多为他们释放了巴拉巴，下令将耶稣鞭打后，带出去钉十字架。
